PMC razes 1.8km stretch of Nagar Road BRTS late at night

PMC demolished a major section of the Yerawada-Wagholi BRTS corridor in Pune following suggestions from experts and demand from local leaders. The demolition drive was conducted at midnight to avoid traffic problems. The 1.8-km stretch from Parankuti to Phoenix Mall was demolished after studying aspects such as structural audit, usability, bus frequency, and traffic congestion. The move received mixed reactions from citizens. The BRTS network, planned as part of JNNURM services, had only completed 70km out of 145km. The BRTS corridors were used by over 4 lakh commuters daily.
