Eight-laning work of eway begins at Khalapur, Talegaon toll plazas

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has begun widening the Mumbai-Pune Expressway at two toll plazas in order to convert the six-lane speed corridor into an eight-lane stretch. The project aims to alleviate increasing traffic congestion on the expressway. The work has started with the widening of a 6km stretch from Khalapur to Khopoli and 1.5 km near the Talegaon toll plaza. The proposal for the full expansion of the entire stretch has been submitted to the state government and is expected to be cleared in two phases.
