Blood banks may run dry in 3 days due to reduced donation

Many blood banks in Pune are facing a shortage of blood due to a dip in donations during the Diwali vacation. The stock is only sufficient for two to three days, with a daily requirement of 50 to 60 units of blood. The shortage is particularly acute for blood types A, B, and AB. Hospitals are urging citizens to come forward and donate blood to meet the demand, especially for road accident victims and transplant patients. Some hospitals have enough stock, but others are struggling to refill their supplies.
