PWD to construct 400 toilets on Maharashtra highways in six months

The state of Maharashtra plans to construct 400 toilets in the next six months to address the lack of public facilities on highways. The public works department minister, Ravindra Chavan, stated that the government will allocate funds and use its land for the construction, as well as seek help from private players through CSR funds. The toilets will be fully functional and maintained by contractors. The state will adhere to the norms set by the central government in 2018, and third-party checks on construction and maintenance will be implemented.
