Pune: Docs remove watermelon-sized tumour from 90-year-old's abdomen

A 90-year-old patient in Pune had a 6.5kg cancerous tumor successfully removed from his abdomen. The complex surgery, lasting five hours, was conducted at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. The patient had previously sought treatment at multiple hospitals without success. The tumor was impacting the functioning of his right kidney. The surgery was the first of its kind performed successfully at the hospital, thanks to the availability of specialist teaching clinicians. The patient is now in stable condition and is expected to be discharged soon.
