Pune-Delhi flight diverts to Mum after ‘bomb-in-bag’ claim

An Akasa Air flight from Pune to Delhi was diverted to Mumbai after a passenger claimed to have a bomb in his handbag. The aircraft landed safely in Mumbai and was declared safe after inspection by the bomb detection and disposal squad. The passenger, who was traveling with his parents, was later arrested and secured bail. The flight eventually took off for Delhi after a delay of five and a half hours. Passengers were stranded at the Mumbai airport during this time.
