Maha plans to reduce road fatalities by 50 per cent

The state of Maharashtra in India plans to reduce road fatalities by 50% before the national deadline of 2030. The motorvehicle department in Maharashtra has been awarded the SKOCH award for its road safety improvement strategy. Measures taken include road safety campaigns, driver sensitization, counseling, and the deployment of interceptor vehicles. The government also plans to spend 1% of district planning funds on road safety and upgrade public health centers to emergency trauma care centers. They will also develop a standard operating procedure for emergency response.
