Climate forum sees warmer winter till Dec; gap in city's day & night temps widens

The recent South Asian Climate Outlook Forum (SASCOF) has predicted a warmer-than-normal winter till December across most parts of India. The outlook indicates that maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be above normal, with above-normal night temperatures expected in parts of west coast, central and northwest India. The outlook also suggests that above-normal day temperatures are likely across most of India, except for some northeastern states and extreme north India. This trend is attributed to the impact of El Nino and global warming. Rising temperatures globally are indicative of the greenhouse effect and global warming.
