Child rights panel tells govt to probe 'grooming ring' in 2 Nagar villages

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has written a letter to the Maharashtra chief secretary, expressing concern over the negligence of the police regarding the alleged grooming of minor girls for religious conversion in Ahmednagar district. The commission has requested the removal of the police officials involved and recommended an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). They believe that there may be more victims involved in the racket. The chief secretary has not yet seen the letter and will comment after reviewing it.
