In Pune, life-term convict dupes Yerawada jail of Rs 26.7 lakh

A prisoner serving a life sentence at Yerawada central prison in Pune, India, is accused of duping authorities of Rs 26.7 lakh ($36,000) by forging signatures and making false entries in a money order register. The convict, Sachin Fulsundar, allegedly tampered with the register and used the money to make purchases at the jail canteen, as well as selling goods to other inmates. The fraud was discovered after officials received reliable information about Fulsundar's activities. He has admitted his involvement in the crime. The police are awaiting the necessary documents to take action against him.
