'Monsoon withdrawal likely from September 1'

Monsoon withdrawal may start from the extreme parts of northwest India in the week starting September 1, Met officials said. The IMD has said conditions were likely to become favourable for commencement of withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some parts of northwest during the week as rainfall activity was likely to be below normal there from September 1-7.
